The Most MER-MAZING AirBnb in Homestead, Florida!

Over Memorial Day Weekend, Alex, our dog Fender and I had the chance to go on a quick little vacation to South Florida. We LOVE visiting South Florida for many reasons, but some of the highlights are always swimming, eating good food, and looking at cool lizards and plants!

When we saw this AirBnb advertised on Instagram, we knew that we had to check it out. The listing boasted a private natural pool stocked with colorful fish, nature trails surrounding the property, and a luxurious house to stay in as well. The listing said that it was for up to 22 people, but it was just us for this trip! We decided to check it out for ourselves, with plans to rent this property again in the future with a larger group of friends!

The first thing that we noticed right from the get go was that supreme service offered by the hosts. Beatrizz and her family were so helpful in the booking process and The house was stocked with everything we needed, including environmentally friendly sunscreen, a nice touch that made us smile :)

When we first walked in the door, we were blown away by the large kitchen and saw that it is fully equipped with all the luxuries that we have at home, and even more. We wish our kitchen was this big and open!

In the dining area, there is a dining table that converts into a Ping Pong table or a pool table. We certainly played a LOT of late night ping pong, although as you can see in our YouTube video, neither one of us are about to go to the Ping Pong Championships. This is the first time Fender our dog saw Ping Pong being played, and he was not so sure about it!

While we did not need all of the rooms, we did check them out for the future and they are all very nice! If you are interested in seeing them, you can check out our YouTube video to see all the features of this house. It has 6 bedrooms, 14 beds, and 4 bathrooms, and plenty of parking in the yard!

Before our Ping Pong battle, we decided to go out on the town and see what Homestead has to offer. We love to immerse ourselves in whatever the culture is of the place we are in, so we stay away from chain restaurants on vacation. The restaurant that we ended up going to for dinner was SOOO good! It was called Las 3 Sirenas, and we picked it because there were mermaids in the logos. The food was AMAZING and the service was also top notch! Everyone we met in Homestead was so friendly, we didn’t want to leave.

On the way back from the restaurant we stopped off at a local fruit stand and picked up a delicious Papaya, and a Mamey fruit. We brought them back to the house and tried them both, but I was not a Mamey fan! That is probably the strangest fruit I have ever tasted, but I am not sure if it was ripe yet so maybe that is why.

We spent swimming as much as possible in the natural pool. It was like little mini spring that was just for us, but the water was much warmer than a spring. The depth of the pool is 20 feet, which made it really fun to swim in some of my mermaid tails all around the pool with the fish! Just a mermaid living her best life.

We also spent a good amount of time walking around the trails on the property which is completely fenced in, and got to see some really cool lizard varieties. We saw some Tokay Geckos, a Night anole, tons of Iguanas, and several different kinds of brown anoles. At night time, the cane toads came out! This is one thing that you do not want to let your dog get. So if you bring a furry friend along to this place, make sure to watch them and make sure they don’t try to eat one!

We had a blast during our stay at The Lake House in Miami! If you would like to book this amazing place for yourself, check it out on AirBnb HERE
